Dear friend,

Have you ever read The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky? If you have, then I guess I don't have to do much explaining. And even if you haven't, you probably will. First off, I should tell you that I selected you kind of randomly. Well, the fact that you listed 'listening' and 'compassion' as interests on the famous makeoutclub helped. You can respond to my letters, or not. Either way, I probably won't answer. Just simply write you when I feel like writing to someone who will hopefully care about what I have to say, or is interested enough in a stranger's life to read past the first few sentences.

I guess right now things are pretty decent. I wish I had thought of doing this the other day when I was lonely and felt like chainsmoking. Those will be the times when I need you the most. Anyway, I have a friend called Gwen who never talks to me anymore. We were really close, but now she hangs out with another girl who she tells all her problems too. I read Gwen's livejournal online and she writes about all these ambiguous things that I don't seem to be in on. Pretty sad. I saw her the other day and I felt like we were strangers to each other. But I've kind of stopped caring much. Which is why I guess I would rather write these things to you than a real friend. What are friends anyway? They don't seem to last. Or maybe I'm the one who's always wrong.

Oh well. I'm sure you will hear from me again very soon. Until then. Thank you.

p.s. I hope you give this a chance.
